Optical Triggering Experimental Series 1- Here I'll be making muzzle velocity measurements and comparing these to the maximum values obtained from the open loop triggering experiments. A comprehensive series of voltage and current measurements will be taken so that the energy budget for the coilgun can be fully characterised. Since it is only possible to measure two transient parameters in any given experiment (2 channel DSO) I'll need to run a series of variability tests to ensure that measurements made in different tests can be effectively correlated.
